In New Delhi on Sunday, demonstrators took to the streets to protest the release of a juvenile convicted in the fatal 2012 gang rape of a young woman. At the time of the attack, the man was 17 years old. He will finish his three-year sentence in a reform home, the Associated Press reports.

Two teenagers were arrested late on Saturday for allegedly raping a 2 1/2-year-old girl in a park in New Delhi on Friday, the Associated Press reports. Police said they questioned more than 250 residents of the surrounding neighborhood.

The Associated Press reports that a woman in New Delhi, India was the victim of assault and robbery when two unnamed men threw acid on her face and then stole her purse as they drove by on a motorcycle. Police reported the incident to the press on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old woman who was savagely gang-raped by a group of men aboard a bus in South Delhi died early Saturday morning at a hospital in Singapore.

In mid-November in India, an unnamed 17-year-old girl was gang-raped in the Patiala region in the Punjab. She had reportedly spent much of December begging and badgering the police to take the case seriously and investigate and eventually arrest her attackers. Sadly, those things never happened — or they were happening very, very slowly as the police worked to convince her to give up. Well, on Wednesday night she did. She swallowed poison, committing suicide.

A "strong quake" (possibly measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale) has been reported in the Indian capital city of New Delhi. This news comes on the same day as a terrorist bombing in the city killed eleven people. [Reuters]
