Lady Gaga's Twitter Account Is Worth $30 Million, According to Some Guy

Adrian Chen · 03/16/12 10:08AM

Is Lady Gaga's 20.7 million-follower Twitter account really worth $30 million? That's what some marketing expert quoted by the Wall Street Journal claims. He says the "publicity and direct access Twitter gives Gaga to her fans is worth around one-third of the $90 million" she earned last year. I would have this marketing expert evaluate my own Twitter account for comparison but I already know its worth: $9.78 and a bag of Kettle Chips. Any takers? [Image via Splash News]

Boyfriend to Gaga: 'Be Normal'

Maureen O'Connor · 01/26/12 05:31PM

In Touch: "Lady Gaga‘s boyfriend of six months, Taylor Kinney, has told her to check her alter ego at the door when she's with him… he has no desire to live with a stage act." Why can't she just be normal. God. It's like she wants to be an outcast. Freak.

The Year in Lies

John Cook · 12/29/11 02:19PM

Lies: They travel halfway round the world before the truth gets its boots on. If you don't tell them, you never have to remember anything. Ask me no questions and I won't tell you any. The year that now comes to an end was, like all years, riddled with them. Grand lies and small ones, grave ones and frivolous ones, true ones and false ones—check that. They were all false. Here is a list of some of them that really caught my attention.

Which Actor Got a Lady Gaga Tattoo on His Ass?

Brian Moylan · 12/27/11 10:20AM

This actor got a Lady Gaga tattoo somewhere "private." Let's hope it's his ass and not his actual privates. This actress' boyfriend pocketed the money she gave him to buy her Christmas presents. At least he didn't end up with a new tattoo.

Lady Gaga Gets Naked and Goes Crazy in 'Marry the Night'

Matt Cherette · 12/02/11 05:22AM

On Thursday, Lady Gaga debuted the music video for her latest single, "Marry the Night." Directed by Gaga herself and clocking in at just under 14 minutes, the epic mini-movie begins with a defeated Gaga being wheeled on a gurney into the psychiatric ward of a hospital. "I'm gonna be a star," she says.

Anne Hathaway Is Engaged to a Normal

Maureen O'Connor · 11/29/11 10:57AM

After three years of dating a real, live celebrity Adam Shulman puts a ring on it. Hugh Jackman's wife complains about his gay rumors. Demi Moore "steps out" with a man. Kim Kardashian gives up on "fairy tale" love. Tuesday gossip is something blue.

Lady Gaga Is Dreaming of a 'White Christmas'

James Apsimon · 11/23/11 03:48PM

All of a sudden, Lady Gaga is in full-on holiday mode. The singer just released "A Very Gaga Holiday," a four-song EP of tunes recorded live during her ABC special "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," airing tomorrow night at 9:30 pm ET. Above, Gaga's traditional, Bing Crosby-esque cover of "White Christmas" – that is, until the pounding drums and laser synths come in at the 1-minute mark (no, that never happens, but she does come up with a new verse).

Lady Gaga's Old Manhattan Apartment Is Up For Grabs

Leah Beckmann · 11/18/11 04:25PM

Way back before there was Lady Gaga, there was Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta and she lived in this apartment on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The entire premise of If These Walls Could Talk should be re-written so that it is about this place.

Lady Gaga Only Pees in Trash Cans

Maureen O'Connor · 11/18/11 11:59AM

Lady Gaga marks her dressing rooms with urine in surprising places. Jessica Simpson plans to give birth in 4-inch Yves Saint Laurent heels. Rihanna is horny and not getting laid enough. Nicki Minaj wants to use a vibrator in front of children. Friday gossip has needs.

Glee: The Monster Mash-Ups

Brian Moylan · 11/16/11 01:46PM

There are three annual things I hate: The start of daylight savings time, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Glee mash-up episode. This year I get all three things at once. God, this is always the worst fucking episode.

Elderly Chinese Choir Covers 'Bad Romance'

James Apsimon · 11/08/11 02:12PM

Continued proof of Lady Gaga's transcendence: a choir of senior citizens recently performed a spirited rendition of her 2009 hit "Bad Romance" on China's Hunan TV.

Watch a Streaker Upstage Hayden Panettiere at the MTV EMAs

Matt Cherette · 11/06/11 07:16PM

The MTV Europe Music Awards (aka the VMAs but with cooler accents) took place today in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Major winners included Lady Gaga, who came dressed up as several versions of the Pixar lamp, and alleged teen mom Justin Bieber. How predictable! One thing EMA viewers didn't see coming, however, was the completely naked man who rushed the stage during a presentation by Hayden Panettiere, who managed to appear shocked despite the fact she probably knew it was going to happen. The NSFW video is above.

Lady Gaga Launches Anti-Bullying Foundation

Maureen O'Connor · 11/02/11 04:02PM

Having apparently let up on her well-meaning but not entirely thought out campaign to make bullying illegal (More jailtime for juvenile delinquents? In place of hate crime statutes, or in addition to them? What about kids who are alternately bullies and bullied?) Lady Gaga is now launching an anti-bullying foundation:

What's New in Music

Remy Stern · 10/24/11 03:46PM

Congratulations, Jessica Simpson! Jessica Jr. will have plenty of great music to listen to when he or she enters this world. Here's some of it.

Watch Lady Gaga Play Marilyn Monroe to Bill Clinton's JFK

Max Read · 10/16/11 10:02AM

"I'm having my first real Marilyn moment," Lady Gaga told the crowd at the "Decade of Difference" concert (celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Clinton Foundation) last night after wishing Bill Clinton a happy birthday and before launching into a rendition of "Bad Romance" cleverly retitled "Bill Romance." (Technically, the former president's birthday is in August.) That seemed to be where the "Marilyn moment" ended, as far as we know, though President Clinton seemed to enjoy it nonetheless: "I got nervous when Gaga said she was planning to have a Marilyn moment and I thought 'I will have a heart attack for my 65th birthday.'" The Fashion of Occupy Wall Street and Other Red Carpet Events

Brian Moylan & Maureen O'Connor · 10/14/11 02:18PM

It's time we talk about the most important part of the Occupy Wall Street protests: just what celebrities are wearing when they visit! But don't worry, we also find time to pick on Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Michelle Williams, Heidi Klum, Christina Aguilera, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Best and Worst Celebrity Wax Figures

Leah Beckmann · 10/09/11 11:21AM

As far as gimmicky tourist attractions go, none tops the great Madame Tussaud and her house of clones. Not to wax poetic here, but there is something equal parts satisfying and unnerving about a dead-eyed Susan Boyle. The resemblance is uncanny! And even if it isn't and the wax statue looks nothing like its real-life counterpart, well, even that is something to see.
