Besides being miffed that we've had to endure twenty of these events, Stewart also couldn't believe Mitt Romney misquoting Seinfeld, Rick Santorum's reasonable explanations and the one word each candidate used to define himself.

The reality didn't quite live up to their socialist, fundamental Islamist hype. What are they doing in now that it is 2012 and Obama is seeking a second term? The exact same thing: making ridiculous predictions about what will come in the next four years.

Virginia's Governor is about to sign a bill into law forcing women who seek an abortion to be subjected to a transvaginal ultrasound. This obviously does not sit well with rational thinkers, among them Jon Stewart. Romney has a Michigan problem considering that he once endorsed letting Detroit fail completely and now is running ads with blatant non-truths in them. Santorum has his own problems, most notably getting sprayed with a Santorum-like substance in ads he produced. He never will learn, will he?

Jon Stewart swung by Late Night with David Letterman and naturally the topic turned to politics. During the discussion, Stewart explained exactly what it is that the GOP doesn't like about Mitt Romney: he's trying to be Rick Santorum and failing miserably.

You know how it goes, you learn some confidential information in a Senate hearing or something and then use that knowledge for your personal financial gain. Hey, it happens all the time. The only problem is that when the regular non-Congress types try do that it is called insider trading and people go to jail. Oh well.

Rick Santorum is worried that female soldiers endanger missions as the male soldiers would have trouble seeing them in peril. Liz Trotta, a Fox News psycho, doesn't want women around because they're getting raped too much, which is obviously their fault. She actually said that.

In his first Daily Show after a week off, Jon Stewart had a lot to catch up on. He started with the controversy over birth control insurance and the extreme reaction that the right has had. Stewart took a look at the hypocrisy espoused by the right, and highlighted the particularly terrible reaction of Rick Santorum who, obviously, can't abide all of this. It takes too much time away from him imposing God's will on all of us.

More accurately, it is the case that Hodgman has no stomach for Stewart's brand of liberal whining about the rich having it all and some such. It's a spirited debate, one that touches the very essence of what kind of place this nation truly is. Or maybe it's filled with vague platitudes about "haves" and "soon to haves." Either way.

Figuring that he's got his party's nomination sewn up, Romney broke out his general election platform, which featured a shot at teachers. Undeterred by the results of the Florida primary, Gingrich started talking about what he will do on the first day of his presidency. It all made for some great grist for Jon Stewart's mill.

On tonight's Daily Show, Jon Stewart examined part Mitt Romney's pitch to Republican voters, that his time as CEO of Bain Capitol makes him uniquely qualified to create jobs in the private sector as President. But, as Stewart showed tonight, that claim is mostly bunk as Bain engaged in some pretty sketchy business practices that Romney doesn't think the United States should engage in anyway. Of course, none of that mattered much to the voters in Florida.

Now that Stephen Colbert is no longer running for the President of the United States of South Carolina, he went to retrieve his Super PAC (and its money) from Jon Stewart. But Stewart wasn't going to give it up without a fight. Tonight's Colbert Report opened with their long and arduous chase. Here it is.

Over the last week, as we approach tomorrow's contest in Florida, things have gotten pretty heated between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. They're fighting for the lead and lashing out at each other, while both are claiming that the other is sad and misguided. On tonight's Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert took stock of the latest issues hurting the campaigns of the Republican candidates. Newt Gingrich is dealing his ex-wife's open marriage claim, Rick Santorum never shared a couch with anyone but his wife, Mitt Romney didn't really win in Iowa, and things got so bad for Rick Perry that he bowed out this morning. Even Colbert has some problems: the Jon Stewart-lead Super PAC rolled out an ad attacking him yesterday. Who could have known that an off hand remark about Rosa Parks could ever be used against him?

The main focus of tonight's Daily Show was the ABC News bombshell that Newt Gingrich asked his second wife for an open marriage before eventually divorcing her, while she was sick to boot. It's not really all that surprising, Newt has always been on the side of the free market and less regulation. If only it didn't completely contradict his years of moralizing about traditional American values, particularly the sanctity of marriage.

On tonight's Daily Show, Jon Stewart attempted to wrap his head around SOPA and its draconian take on internet piracy. He saved his harshest criticisms for its sponsors in Congress and their inability to truly understand (a) the internet and (b) what their bill will actually do. And their flippant use of the word "nerd" isn't helping either.

By now we all know that Jon Stewart has taken over Stephen Colbert's Super PAC and has started running some attack ads. But what should he do next? And how can he figure that out without coordinating with Colbert? On tonight's Daily Show, Stewart and Colbert made a clever mockery of the Super PAC rules and didn't coordinate the entire time.
