India has nailed its first foray into interplanetary travel. A 14-year-old girl was reportedly raped Tuesday night in a remote village in the Indian state Jharkhand as "revenge" for another alleged rape. According to New Delhi TV, the self-appointed headman of the village ordered the attack, which was allegedly carried out by a 25-year-old man.

Police in the Uttar Pradesh state of India will exhume the bodies of two teenage girls who were raped and murdered by a group of men in their hometown in order to perform a "fresh autopsy," according reports in the Indian media.

A building in New Delhi, India, as well as a building in the southern city of Chennai, collapsed within hours of each other on Saturday, killing at least 11. Authorities fear that dozens more are trapped in the wreckage of both buildings.

Kaitlin Goldstein, a doctoral student at MIT who had been missing for a week, was found dead in a ravine below a trail in a remote part of India. Goldstein, 28, apparently slipped and fell while running on the trail. She had been missing since June 14 and was in the country to attend an energy and development workshop.

At least 24 students from Hyderabad, Telangana are feared to have drowned in a sudden flood of the Beas River Sunday evening. According to witnesses, the flood apparently occurred after the hydropower plant upstream released its floodgates without warning.
