Perhaps noticing that some of their agents may be in need of a brush-up, the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy has decided to offer a "highly entertaining" continuing education course this fall called "Officer-Involved Shooting – You Can Win With The Media."

The St. Louis-Post Dispatch is reporting that Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Mike Brown in early August, appeared before a St. Louis County grand jury today to testify about the shooting. An unnamed source "with knowledge of the investigation" tells the newspaper that Wilson testified for nearly four hours.

Between withheld information, unnecessary use of force, and aggression toward journalists, it should be clear by now that police in Ferguson colossally mishandled the aftermath of Michael Brown's death. A new Mother Jones report, however, paints an even bleaker picture than we've already seen.

Ferguson police officer Justin Cosma made headlines last week when he arrested and allegedly assaulted two reporters working out of a McDonalds and as it turns out, it's not the first time he's been accused of unlawful force.

The funeral for Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo. this month, will be held on Monday morning. Michael Brown Sr., the child's father, told a St. Louis radio station that he'd like protestors to take the day off that Monday out of respect for his son.
