A “Ride the Ducks” land-water tour vehicle—usually known for careening around major cities in a zany manner while tour groups blow duck whistles at pedestrians—met with disaster when it collided with a charter tour bus around 11 a.m. Thursday on Seattle’s Aurora Bridge. There were 50 injuries—12 of them critical—and four fatalities.

Daily News owner and aging billionaire Mort Zuckerman was having a bit too much fun in East Hampton, New York on August 11 when he rammed his Lexus into single mom and store manager Charlene F. Peele’s parked Ford sedan, all but destroying the vehicle. Zuckerman, while claiming to have left his business card at the scene, shortly left the crash site—a violation of state law. Worse, according the New York Post’s Jeane Macintosh, Zuck’s insurance company is refusing to pay for the total cost of the damange, sticking Peele with $4,000 to pay on a car she can’t drive. After a days-long manhunt for a suspect who plowed into a livery cab in a BMW, killing an expectant mother and her husband before fleeing, an ex-con named Julio Acevedo has turned himself in.
Early Sunday morning, a young man and his pregnant wife were killed in a hit-and-run car accident in Brooklyn. The couple, Nachman and Raizel Glauber, both 21, were rushing to the hospital in the back seat of a livery cab after Raizel, who was seven months pregnant, complained of pains. At an intersection in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a gray BMW collided with the livery cab, ejecting the pregnant Raizel into the street and trapping Nachman inside the car, where first responders used metal cutters to remove him. Nachman was later pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital; Raizel was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors performed an emergency C-section before she died. The couple's baby, a boy, is in serious condition at Bellevue and is expected to survive. Update: According to a community spokesman, the baby has died.

A Phoenix man became trapped inside his SUV on Thursday after he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over and strike a utility pole.
