South Central, the historic region of Los Angeles that birthed Gangster Rap and served as the backdrop of the L.A riots, has piqued the interest of none other than ousted American Apparel CEO Dov Charney.
Bad morning? Well, consider that you didn’t lose $8.2 million dollars after the once renowned clothing company you founded finally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Imagine getting a text that reads, “Your ass in that photo is the perfect cum target.” Now imagine that text came from your boss. Now imagine your boss is notorious creep and founder of American Apparel Dov Charney. Now imagine this: dozens of women say they had to deal with that on a daily basis.
Dov Charney is out again at American Apparel. The clothing company announced on Tuesday that the skeevy former CEO was fired "for cause" from his role as a consultant, a position he's held since July. In June, Charney was terminated as chairman after the company compiled a long list of his alleged offenses, including sexual harassment, misuse of company funds, and racist comments.
When I graduated college I moved to a new city and wanted a low-stress job that would allow me time to focus on creative projects. I knew people who had worked for American Apparel in the past, both in sales and at the LA headquarters, so I decided to interview for a part-time position.
Notoriously skeevy American Apparel founder Dov Charney was fired in mid-June for a long list of reasons, including allegedly misusing company funds, engaging in and covering up sexual harassment, and leaking nude photos of the woman who claims she was his sex slave. Ousted American Apparel founder and jaunty dick-swinger Dov Charney, as anyone would expect, is mounting a lawsuit against the board of directors who terminated him from his position as chairman.
