Kenyan authorities have identified the son of a governmental official as one of four Islamic extremists behind this week's massacre at Garissa University College, the BBC reports.

al-Shabab gunmen led a rampage on the Garissa University College campus in eastern Kenya Tuesday morning, killing at least 15 people and taking an unknown number of hostages. The National Disaster Operation Center of Kenya told the New York Times that 65 people were admitted to a local hospital, “most with gunshot wounds.”

At least 25 people were killed and 40 more wounded in a pair of suicide bombings perpetrated yesterday in Mogadishu, Somalia, the New York Times reports. The attack was carried out by a rebel group, Al Shabab, who claimed to have targeted government officials gathered at a hotel for a prayer service.
