Al-Jazeera contract cancelled

Gawker · 04/04/03 10:26AM

Akamai Technologies has cancelled a major contract with the Al-Jazeera network to host the Arabic news channel's English-language website. Joanne Tucker, the site's managing editor, says that political pressure led to the contract termination and that the cancellation is an attempt to silence the site. Akamai refuses to comment on the reasons for the cancellation.

Al-Jazeera hacked

Gawker · 03/27/03 11:42AM

Liz Smith channels Ann Coulter

Gawker · 12/12/02 03:54AM
