Four Marines Killed at Tennessee Military Reserve Center
A gunman reportedly opened fire at several locations this morning in Chattanooga, Tenn, including at a strip mall that houses several military recruitment center. At least one person—a police officer—has reportedly been wounded. (UPDATES)
“There has been several (shootings) at several different locations. It’s a fluid situation,” said John Harmon, a spokesman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol, which is assisting local authorities.
“We’ve got an officer down,” Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke told reporters, calling it a “very terrible situation.”
A witness told WTVC’s Alyssa Spirto that he heard gunshots at the military recruitment center and saw the gunman speed off in a silver Mustang. One person, the witness said, had been shot in the leg. The Navy has confirmed the shooting at the center.

According to Tennessee state senator Bo Watson, the shooter is still at large.
UPDATE 12:55 pm: CBS News reports that four marines were also wounded at the military recruitment center.

UPDATE 1:13 pm: The gunman is dead, according to CBS News.
UPDATE 1:25 pm: WRCB reports that the shootings took place at two locations connected to the Navy. From WRCB:
The shooting incident began on the U.S. Naval Recruiting on Lee Highway in Chattanooga ended at the U.S. Naval Reserve Center on Amincola Highway Thursday morning about 11am.
CBS News has now changed their report to note that “at least two U.S. Marines” were shot. Earlier, the station reported that four had been shot.
UPDATE 1:43 pm: WTVC’s Kelsey Bagwell is also reporting that two Marines and a Chattanooga police officer were wounded in the shootings.
UPDATE 2:21 pm: The Times Free Press reports that four members of the military were killed in the attack. All four were reportedly Marines.

UPDATE 3:05 pm: Chattanooga mayor Andy Berke has confirmed that five people, including the shooter, were killed during today’s attack. The gunman, who reportedly did not work at the recruitment center, was armed with multiple weapons. All four victims were reportedly killed at the Navy Reserve center. The second shooting reportedly took place at a recruitment office about six miles away.

UPDATE 3:42 pm: Citing law enforcement sources, CBS News has identified the shooter as
Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. Meanwhile, the U.S. Marine Corps has confirmed on Facebook that the four people killed at the were Marines.
The Marine Corps can confirm four Marine fatalities at the Navy & Marine Corps Reserve Center in Chattanooga, TN. Names of these Marines will be released upon notification of the next of kin.
We can also confirm one Marine Corps recruiter suffered a wound to the leg while working at the Chattanooga recruiting office, was treated at a local hospital and has been released.
UPDATE 4:44 pm: A U.S. official told ABC News that the shooter, identified as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, was killed during a shoutout with law enforcement agents.

UPDATE 5:37 pm: The FBI has confirmed Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez as the shooter. Abdulazeez, who is reportedly a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Kuwait, was arrested for DUI in April. His mugshot is below.
