Scott Walker Endorses Ted Cruz for President
Wisconsin Governor and failed Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker has announced his pick for commander in chief: Ted Cruz, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone.
Walker, who dropped out of the race in September, was an early proponent of the GOP’s current “#NeverTrump” philosophy, calling on fellow candidates to exit the race as well so that the party might rally around a single Trump-beating candidate. And increasingly, Cruz looks like the only one has the slightest chance of beating him.
The governor timed his official endorsement to lead into the Wisconsin primary, which happens next week. But as the Associated Press points out, the support might not be an unqualified boon for Cruz. Walker has a 40 percent approval rating among voters in his state—among the lowest of any governor in the U.S.
