Sometimes parody is too real to be funny—too accurate and terrifying and nightmarish to make you laugh. This week’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ cold open is just that: too, too real.

“I really am running the best campaign, aren’t I?” says Darrell Hammond as Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. “The media is saying they haven’t seen anything like this since Germany in the 1930s.”

Hmmm, wonder what that reference is all about?
