San Diego Politics Get Even Weirder: The Public Masturbation Edition
Now that Bob "Don't Wear Underwear" Filner has stepped down as San Diego's mayor, something had to fill the political sexytime void — at least this time it's more of a victimless crime.
Two San Diego politicians — a Democratic state senator and a City councilwoman — have come forward to publicly accuse one of the leading Republican candidates to replace Filner, Carl DeMaio, of having an openly-masturbating-in-restrooms problem.
Former City Council head and current Democratic state senator Ben Hueso told VoiceofOC.org that he caught DeMaio masturbating in work bathrooms twice, but believed it happened more often. Hueso said he entered the restroom to find DeMaio standing at a urinal with his pants around his ankles.
“DeMaio was masturbating,” Hueso told the website. “He jumped, caught by surprise. He jumped to the sink ... saying ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ about six times. Then washed his hands, darted out.”
A spokesperson for DeMaio is calling the accusations “absurd and ludicrous."
Apparently in San Diego, public masturbation is a fireable offense for municipal employees, "but not necessarily for an elected official."
