The AP just published four previously unseen emails from Hillary Clinton's private email server, obtained through FOIA request. In substance, they're pretty boring—but they reveal something worrisome about how one of the most powerful people in the world used email.

In a message dated September 18th, 2011, top Clinton Aide Huma Abedin forwards an article regarding the wreckage of an American military drone in Pakistan. Clinton's replies about some sort of ornamental bench, or box, or basket, or something that is not a crashed American drone:

I like the idea of these. How high are they? What would the bench be made of? And I'd prefer two shelves or attractive boxes/baskets/ conmtainers (sic) on one. What do you think?

Only after Abedin asks if Clinton made a mistake ("Did u mean to send to me?") does Clinton realize she mixed up her emails on the only email account she used during her tenure as Secretary:

No-sorry! Also, pls let me know if you got a reply from my ipad. I'm not sure replies go thru.

It's easy to imagine a scenario in which screwing up an email reply in this manner—sending a personal email to a work contact, or vice versa—could've been tremendously damaging. This is someone with access to state secrets and diplomatic intelligence at the highest level. Clinton also reveals here that she used an iPad in addition to her BlackBerry, which completely controverts her previous excuse for the private email server, which was that she didn't feel like using multiple devices. An iPad is a lot bigger than a second phone.
