This seems like a PR stunt that Gruber was either in on, or was 100% made up. As noted, if he really had such a problem with gay people WHY GO TO FIRE ISLAND. It's not like he'd never been there before! There are so many lame fake "feuds" and "controversies" that come out of the Hamptons/Fire Island this time of year it's like watching an entire month of the worst parts of the Real Housewives reunions.
