If you thought the story about http://www.viddler.com/v/86e2e579the woman who regularly jerked off her dolphin friend/test subject Peter was twisted, get a load of what else happened to the dolphins in that experiment. As detailed in BBC Four's The Girl Who Talked to Dolphins, which aired tonight in the U.K., John C. Lilly was a scientist who started studying three dolphins in a partially flooded villa on St. Thomas dubbed "the dolphin house." A lot of these experiments revolved around dolphin communication—specifically, Margaret Howe Lovatt (the titular girl who talked to dolphins...sometimes with her hand) attempted to teach English to her beloved Peter.

Dr. Mehmet Oz—of the The Dr. Oz Show fame—was hauled in front of a Senate panel today to answer for all the dubious benefits he claims certain weight loss products will provide. One of the most heartwrenching scenes in the season 4 finale of Game of Thrones was between Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and two of her dragons. Claire Lobenfeld · 06/17/14 01:55PM

In the penultimate episode of this season of Louie, we’re given a 90-minute flashback into Louie becoming a stoner in middle school. There’s a scene in which his science teacher demonstrates to the class that if you fall asleep through loud noise, its absence can work the same way as an alarm clock to wake you up. This—waking up thanks to a sudden silence—was how I felt watching the fourth season of the show, which ended last night.
