Model Kicked Out of Comic Con for Being Too Sexy
Maureen O'Connor · 07/25/11 12:21PM
There is a limit to how close cosplay can get to foreplay at Comic Con. Nerd babe and America's Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry says she got kicked out for showing an "illegal" amount of butt cheek. She had to tie a shirt around her waist to get back in. Meanwhile, this completely naked NSFW Daenerys (is that a mistletoe above her crotch? dragon?) perseveres. Comic Con: Getting closer to a live action fetish porno everyday. Hamilton Nolan · 07/25/11 12:20PM
In sleepy Raleigh, North Carolina sits Peace College—not a hippie school, as you would suspect, but a women's college, which is basically the same thing. But not for long! Peace has announced plans to let dudes attends. But, as a compromise, they will remain segregated in classes. Way to satisfy no one at all!

Today, with the help of the New Jersey ACLU, Gawker filed a civil complaint against the office of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie under the state's Open Records Act. We're seeking records of Christie's communications with Fox News chairman Roger Ailes. Christie claims they should remain secret under the state's executive privilege. We disagree.

The New York Times really knows what it's doing, when it comes to trend stories. What it's doing is not "Finding and identifying important fact-based trends and bringing them to light, for the public good." What it's doing is "Finding and identifying thoroughly unimportant trends which may or may not be real but which will serve to enrage the average reader enough to make it onto the 'Most Emailed' list."

Jeff Neumann · 07/25/11 07:20AM
2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year for politics. A month after the U.S. presidential election Venezuela will hold its own, and Hugo Chávez said that he's running. He dropped the news to the Venezuelan newspaper Correo del Orinoco and gave a rare rare insight into his way of thinking: "On a personal level, I tell you I have never thought for even an instant of retiring from the presidency." Whoa, really?

Oregon Congressman David Wu, of fuzzy tiger suit fame, was recently accused of "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior" by a young woman. Yesterday one of his advisors told Politico, "He isn't going to be running for reelection," but added that Wu will not resign because he didn't do anything wrong. Nancy Pelosi said in a statement that she wants the House Ethics Committee to open an investigation into the latest claim against Wu. Watch out for the Ethics Committee, Wu — they're tough.

Don't Light a Cigarette Inside a Porta John
Jeff Neumann · 07/25/11 01:21AM
An airman from the Royal Australian Air Force is being treated for "severe burns" after he apparently had a porta john mishap earlier today. A spokeswoman for the Department of Community Safety in Queensland told the Brisbane Times, "He was in a portaloo when there was some kind of explosion. It's believed he was lighting a cigarette at the time." So many potential jokes here, but damn, that's pretty rough.
