ICYMI: Jon Stewart on Neglecting to Pick Up on Petraeus Affair During Broadwell Interview: 'I Am the Worst Journalist in the World'

Neetzan Zimmerman · 11/13/12 10:05AM

On last night's episode of The Daily Show, after recapping former CIA director David Petraeus's "spyfall" from grace and expressing disappointment at the scandal's lack of, well, scandal, host Jon Stewart got down to brass tacks: Namely, his own failure to figure out that something was going on between Petraeus and Paula Broadwell during his now-infamous interview with the disgraced biographer.

Today's Other Song: Lindstrøm "Vōs-Sākō-Rv (Vocal Edit)" (Premiere)

Rich Juzwiak · 11/13/12 10:00AM

The music of Norway's disco-and-then-some producer Hans-Peter Lindstrøm is often designed to make people move, which falls in line with his own refusal to stay in one place for too long. In addition to sleek, spacey disco, he's dabbled in folky territory, he's done Kraut-y stuff and earlier this year he released an insane album, Six Cups of Rebel, that had the freaked-out maximalism of Parliament Funkadelic and/or a carnival.

The MTA Gets Back to Its Core Business of Screwing New Yorkers

Hamilton Nolan · 11/13/12 09:36AM

Let's all give a hand to New York's MTA, for their work after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Really. They had to get an entire system back on line, despite extensive damage and heavy public pressure, and they did it. Let's just take a moment to acknowledge the hard work of all those workers who got down in dark, flooded tunnels and fixed that whole mess so this city could get moving again. We salute you all. This moment in time represents the most public good will the notoriously poorly managed MTA has had in many years.

Today's Song: Midnight Magic "Threshold" (Premiere)

Rich Juzwiak · 11/13/12 09:00AM

Brooklyn's Midnight Magic is a nine-piece contemporary disco band, complete with a horn section and a theatrical frontwoman, Tiffany Roth, whose combination of chops and camp resembles an off off off Broadway Bette Midler. Their debut album, Walking The Midnight Streets, is out today (via a PledgeMusic donation) and includes their best-known song "Beam Me Up," which has knocked around for over a year, though it sounds like it's been decades.

General John R. Allen Reportedly Exchanged 20,000 to 30,000 Pages of 'Potentially Inappropriate' Emails With Jill Kelley

Taylor Berman · 11/13/12 01:54AM

This scandal just won't quit, will it? The Petraeus affair, which already took a turn for the weird earlier tonight when news broke that an FBI agent was emailing shirtless pictures of himself to Jill Kelley, has now expanded to include another high-ranking military official, General John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. And NATO troops in Afghanistan. According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI had uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 "potentially inappropriate" pages of communication between Allen and Kelley, Petraeus's alleged other other woman and the subject of the shirtless FBI agent's affection.

Victoria's Secret Is Sincerely Sorry for Using A Native American Headdress in Their Fashion Show

Taylor Berman · 11/12/12 11:41PM

For whatever reason, people continue to think it's okay to wear headdresses and other Native American clothing as part of their cool new video or Halloween costume or whatever. Two weeks ago, No Doubt learned the hard way that it's racist and dumb to make a video that's basically a "hot" version of Cowboys & Indians; last week, it was Victoria's Secrets turn to offend.

An FBI Agent Sent Shirtless Photos of Himself to Jill Kelley, and Other Ridiculous New Details About the Petraeus Investigation (UPDATE)

Taylor Berman · 11/12/12 10:03PM

In a new, strange twist to the ongoing Petraeus scandal, it turns out the FBI agent who started the investigation sent topless photos of himself to Jill Kelley, Petraeus's alleged other other woman. The agent in question was apparently a friend of Kelley's and the person she turned turned to after she received the "threatening" emails from Paula Broadwell, Petraeus's first mistress.

And Now, A Picture of Kate Middleton Dressed as an Adult Baby (UPDATE)

Taylor Berman · 11/12/12 08:14PM

There's not a ton to say about this picture, really. It's Kate Middleton wearing a diaper and a bib while covered in what looks like shaving cream. It's reportedly from a 2001 event at St. Andrew's University, which makes sense; who doesn't have embarrassing photos from college floating around the internet? And, of course, this photo is a lot less scandalous than those other Kate Middleton photos on the internet, although, as The Cut points out, there is a set of droopy balls to Kate's right. Scandal! NSFW!

Did an Anonymous Wikipedia Editor Try to Out the Petraeus Affair Back in January? (UPDATE)

Cord Jefferson · 11/12/12 07:39PM

Look into the history of Paula Broadwell's Wikipedia page and there's not much to it before last Friday. That's the day Republican golden boy and former CIA director David Petraeus resigned as the nation's top spy amid allegations he was cheating on his wife with Broadwell, his biographer. Broadwell's page was so lackluster, in fact, that in February, one Wikipedia editor, Bgwhite, requested to delete it entirely, saying Broadwell was not notable.
