North Korea Calls Obama "a Monkey," Blames U.S. for Breaking Internet
North Korea issued a blistering (and surprisingly folksy) condemnation of the United States following the nationwide release of The Interview this week, accusing Obama of going "reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest" and America of being shameless "like children playing a tag."
"The prevailing situation clearly shows that the U.S. is adding to its crimes by screening the movie The Interview," said a DPRK military spokesperson. "With no rhetoric can the U.S. justify the screening and distribution of the movie."
The statement, which was published via state media on Saturday, also charged the U.S. with being behind the Internet blackout that struck the nation on Monday and once again denied that North Korea was responsible for the Sony hack, as alleged by the FBI.
"If the U.S. persists in American-style arrogant, high-handed and gangster-like arbitrary practices despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK," said the official, "the U.S. should bear in mind that its failed political affairs will face inescapable deadly blows."
