Mostly Middle-Aged Men Die of Alcohol Poisoning

What sort of people tend to die from alcohol poisoning? If you said "idiot college students," shut up—you're wrong, and drunk.
The CDC has published a new study that takes an in-depth look at who exactly is dying from alcohol poisoning in America. The vital stats:
- 2,200 Americans per year die of alcohol poisoning, about six per day.
- 68% of those who die are white.
- Three quarters of those who die are men.
- One third of those who die are between the ages of 45-54; three quarters of those who die are between the ages of 35-64.
So alcohol poisoning is definitively not a problem most deeply rooted in young college students. They're just more photogenic. (In some cases, there are always outliers.)
