Guinea Pig Street Meat in Minnesota Ends Badly
More than 81 people fell ill with the Guinea Pig's Revenge after eating salmonella-tainted 'pig meat at a Minneapolis Ecuadorian street fair.
The meat was used in an Ecuadorian dish that traditionally calls for guinea pigs (note: neither from Guinea nor pigs — discuss amongst yourselves) — but other meats were apparently cross-tainted as well.
According to the Star-Tribune, state officials say the host of the festival, Nieves Riera, “did not follow the rules that applied to the permit. The vendor sold food it was not approved to sell, and used preparation practices that were not approved by the health code.”
And also in guinea pig news — guinea pigs do not fuck around with fucking around. The "loud," "smelly" rodents were recently evicted from a German university lab because they had sex too loudly.
