Jurassic Park Without the CGI is "Better" Than the Original
Jurassic Park was the first movie to truly blur the line between CGI and reality, combining Industrial Light and Magic's cutting-edge computer effects with dinosaurs designed by practical effects legend Stan Winston. But screw all that—some guys on YouTube did it with toys and cardboard.
The latest entry in Jurassic Park's weird internet mini-renaissance is a version of the movie minus the CGI and plus some ridiculous homemade effects.
It's also "better" in other ways, including a cameo by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Is that a nod to Terminator 2's prominent place in the history of Hollywood CGI, or did these guys just think it was funny? (Answer: There's no conceivable way it could matter. Watch the video.)
