John Kasich just took Ohio—his first and only state win so far. And fortunately for him, Ohio also just so happens to be a winner-take-all state. It’s just too bad it’s nearly impossible for him to win at this point.

Which, to his campaign’s credit, they seem totally fine with. As John Weaver, Kasich’s chief campaign strategist (who previously lost both the 2000 and 2008 elections for John McCain) told Reuters, “The plan is to win Ohio, and some other states, and if that happens, nobody is going to have enough delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot.”

The plan is to win Ohio, and some other states. Well, they’ve definitely got the first one down.

Watch out Some Other States. Kasich’s comin’ for ya. Eventually.
