In an interview with NBC Connecticut, Joe Biden, who announced in October that he would not be running for president in 2016, admitted to having second thoughts. “I regret it every day,” he said Wednesday. “But it was the right decision for my family and me.”

One can imagine Biden salivating at the opportunity to run against whoever emerges from the Republican field to seize the candidacy. “I promise you, I’ve spoken to three of the presidential potential nominees on the Republican side who tell me, ‘Joe, it’s crazy,’” he said. “It’s absolutely crazy.”

Still, he said he plans to be “deeply involved” in the race. “There’s real robust debate between Hillary and Bernie,” Biden said. “As there would’ve been if I was in the race.” Apparently he did not have anything to say about Martin O’Malley.
