How'd This Horse Get on the Roof?
A horse is a horse, of course, of course, and no horse can climb on the roof, of course, that is, of course, unless that horse is bored.
"It looked like Archie had done a joke on Stephen and Photoshopped the horse on the roof because that just doesn't happen," Pat Downey told CTV Atlantic, recalling her reaction to seeing a photo of one of her racing horses standing on the roof of her New Brunswick farm. "You would never get a horse to do something like that."
The honest-to-goodness photo, snapped by Pat's brother-in-law Archie, was taken just before the colt was successfully brought down off his high horse.
Stephen, Pat's husband, believes Must Win got on the roof by trotting up a "small knoll" behind the couple's garage. He was alone at the time, with the rest of his friends off horsing around in Saint John.
"I think he was just bored," said Stephen. "He's like a two or three-year-old kid and he was just looking for some excitement and he got into trouble like a regular kid would do."
