Hey, What Happened to Melania Trump’s Website?
Taking time out from her current business and professional interests, Melania Trump addressed fans’ questions on Thursday about why her website, MelaniaTrump.com, now redirects to the Trump Organization’s homepage. “The website in question was created in 2012 and has been removed because it does not accurately reflect my current business and professional interests,” she said in a screenshot statement posted to Twitter. The statement, astute readers will note, is only 10 characters longer than Twitter’s 140 character limit.
The Huffington Post first noted MelaniaTrump.com’s disappearance from the Internet on Wednesday.
The site’s “Biography” section listed, among other accomplishments, Melania’s undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Ljubljana, in Slovenia.
A recently published, unauthorized biography and numerous news outlets (including Gawker) have raised questions of late regarding the veracity of this claim. According to Melania Trump: The Inside Story, Melania left school after one year to pursue her modeling career. Such embellishment, the book argues, “was almost certainly done in consultation with Trump and his advisors, as they were desperate to give off the impression that the Slovenian model was not just beautiful, but also smart and well-educated.”
