Hero Cat Takes a Victory Lap on the Today Show
Tara, the heroic tabby cat who fought off a neighbor's guard dog after it attacked a young child, cemented her fame this morning with an appearances on Today and ABC News.
The Triantafilo family adopted their now-famous cat after she followed them home from the park 5 years ago. When their son, Jeremy, was born, Tara was very protective, even sleeping next to the baby in his crib.
Four years later, her feline vigilance paid off when she scared off the dog as it was biting into Jeremy's leg.
"She's a hero!" the little boy said, with a fist-pump.
