As if you needed additional proof that dogs are the best, one couple is crediting their pets with helping them find true love.

Like something out of a Disney movie, Clair Johnson and Mark Gaffey say it was a romantic bond between their dogs that first brought them together.

While attending guide dog training classes near their home in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Johnson and Gaffey, who are both blind, noticed that their dogs had fallen for each other.

"During the training our two dogs, Rodd and Venice, seemed to know something we didn't," Gaffey, 52, told ITV's Me and My Guide Dog. "They were always playing together and nuzzling up together. The trainers said that they were the love and romance of the course, and they brought us together."

Following the two-week course in March of 2012, Johnson, 50, took a leap of fate (sic), and invited Gaffey out for coffee.

Eleven months later they were engaged.

"It was a lovely surprise when he proposed the first time on Valentines' Day, but I got proposed to four times that day because he kept going down on one knee," Johnson said. "I suppose I can never say I will forget the day I got engaged. And it wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for our dogs."
