Gay Marriage, Big Hats, and Beyonce: The Best Moments From the Grammys

The Grammys—the worst award show—were last night. Things happened! Macklemore saved gay marriage. Daft Punk won Album of the Year. Pharrell wore a funny hat. And, of course, Taylor Swift awkwardly danced during every song.
First, let's talk about the performances. There were a lot. 21 in total. And some were actually good! Beyonce and Jay-Z killed it (of course). So did Daft Punk with Stevie Wonder, the Highwaymen (with Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson), and Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons.
Here's Beyonce and Jay-Z performing "Drunk Love."

But the real moment everyone was talking/upset about was Macklemore's performance of "Same Love" (see above), which featured two notable "surprises":
- Madonna showed up halfway though—for no apparent reason—to sing the chorus.
- Queen Latifah married 33 gay and straight couples in the middle of the song.
It was certainly a spectacle, though perhaps not the heartwarming moment Grammys' producers were hoping for.
Speaking of Macklemore: he (along with Ryan Lewis) won practically every Rap award, including Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance, beating Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye West, and others.
Other winners: Lorde won two awards, including Song of the Year, and Daft Punk won four, including Album and Record of the Year, and Justin Timberlake took home three awards.
The losers? Kendrick Lamar, who was shutout despite seven nominations, Taylor Swift, who was nominated for four awards, and Drake, who was up for five.
And there was Pharrell's giant hat. Just look it at.
