According to the Los Angeles Times, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is buying the Clippers from noted racist Donald Sterling for a mere $2 billion.

The sale would be the most ever paid for an NBA team, and significantly more than the second-highest bid, a $1.5 billion offer from a group of investors that included Oprah Winfrey, Larry Ellison and David Geffen. Los Angeles investors Tony Ressler and Steve Karsh reportedly offered $1.2 billion.

The 29 other NBA owners will have to approve the deal, but the Los Angeles Times predicts Ballmer won't have trouble as long as he agrees not to move the team.

Ballmer left Microsoft last February after 14 years as CEO. He has an estimated net worth of $20 billion.
