First Task For RNC's New Head of Hispanic Relations: Delete All the Stuff She Wrote About Trump on Twitter
Yesterday the New York Times reported that Ruth Guerra, the head of Hispanic relations for the Republican National Committee, would be leaving her position for reasons rumored to rhyme with Donald Trump. Taking her place is Helen Aguirre Ferre, a former journalist whose first act of business is scrubbing all the things she’s said about Trump on Twitter—none of which appear to be positive.
In fact, Ferre, a former journalist and advisor for the Jeb Bush campaign, has publicly denounced Trump across a variety of mediums. In addition to her Twitter account, the Washington Post reports, she also “frequently expressed doubts about Trump in public during appearances on Spanish-language television programs.”
But however she feels in public, she seems willing to walk it back for her new job with the RNC. According to Media Matters, Ferre has deleted at least twelve tweets referencing Trump, some of which were sent as recently as last month. Screenshots via Media Matters:
