At least 105 people were killed this morning when a 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit South Asia, according to Afghan and Pakistani officials.

Sixty-two of those killed lived in Pakistan, according to Abdul Latif Khan, a senior official at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority. Khan told the Associated Press that 46 people in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were killed; another 16 died in the tribal regions near the Afghan border.

CNN, citing local police, reports that 12 schoolgirls—all between 10 and 15 years old—were killed in a stampede in northern Afghanistan.

Tremors from the quake were felt in Kabul, New Dehli, and Islamabad, though no major damage was reported in any of those cities.
