Approximately 15 minutes after 8:00 on Tuesday evening, screenshots of an apparent interaction between Canadian pop star Justin Bieber and Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s Instagram accounts began circulating on social media. Bieber, it seemed, had liked one of Trump’s videos.

The video in question features Trump exhorting Wisconsin voters to “make America great again.” It does not appear that Bieber follows Trump on Instagram, although Shady Music Facts reported on Twitter that Bieber follows Trump on that social media platform.

Gawker was not able to independently verify the authenticity of the screenshots, which appear to be taken from the “Following” tab of the app’s “Activity” screen. We scrolled (several times) through the tens of thousands of likes Trump’s video had received, searching for “justinbieber” to no avail. It is possible, of course, that Bieber liked the video, and then unliked it. One of the sources of the screenshots, JustinBieberTracking, exists to track Justin Bieber on Instagram.

We have reached out to Bieber’s label, Def Jam Records, for comment and will update if we hear back.
