This news comes on the heels of a week of protests, activism, and a civil-rights investigation into the shooting of Brown, who was killed by local police in Ferguson, Missouri last week.
According CBS affiliate KMOX, funeral arrangements for Brown are on hold until a second autopsy can be performed. Brown family attorney Ben Crump believes that the second autopsy, overseen by the Department of Justice, will ensure objectivity.
Crump stated that the family hopes to hold Brown's funeral by the weekend of August 23.
