Cleveland Hero Charles Ramsey to Eat Free Burgers for Life
McDonald's promised to get in touch with Charles Ramsey, the Big Mac-loving hero of the Cleveland kidnappings, but never did. So over a dozen Cleveland-area restaurants decided to reach out to Ramsey in the Golden Arches' stead, and offer him free burgers for life.
Ramsey, who along with Angel Cordero helped whisk the three captive women to safety, was recently honored with his own "Ramsey Burger" at Hodge's — the restaurant where he works as a dishwasher.
But that was a free sample compared with what came next: A personalized "Chuck Card" good for a lifetime of free burgers at over a dozen restaurants in Northeast Ohio.
Some restaurants will even throw in a free order of fries and a drink.
"He stopped his meal midway through to help those women," said Scott Kuhn of Driftwood Restaurant Group, who organized the tribute. "We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger."
