Following a dismal showing in New Hampshire, Chris Christie has reportedly decided to suspend his campaign and stay in New Jersey.

Last night, Christie announced he would be returning home to Jersey instead of continuing on to South Carolina, where the next Republican primary will take place in less than two weeks. Now, according to CNN, two unidentified sources “close to the Christie campaign” claim he’s spending the day meeting with top campaign aides to work out the details to suspend his bid.

One source noted that the New Jersey governor is a “political realist” and understood that not qualifying to appear in Saturday’s debate and the lack of money made it impossible to go forward.

Stuck in New Jersey so matter how hard he tries to get out—it would make a great Bruce Springsteen song, if Bruce didn’t hate Christie so much.
