A convicted child rapist was sentenced to ten years in prison last week after he bragged to his girlfriend about raping children and later attempted to rape the woman's daughter.

Ryan Firoved was caught in the act last year when he entered a Kirkland, Washington motel room after being lured there by his girlfriend with the promise that he could rape her nine-year-old daughter.

Firoved's girlfriend first became wise to his criminal past after the 37-year-old married father (his wife filed for divorce in March) revealed to her that he had raped a 12-year-old girl.

Between March and June of 2012, Firoved sent his girlfriend text messages containing claims about raping other young girls.

"I guess you could say I’m a pedophile, but at least I’m not a predator," Firoved reportedly told his girlfriend in one of their exchanges. "People come to me and I make it consensual."

He then proposed that his girlfriend "make it consensual" with her daughter, prompting the woman to contact local police.

It turned out that Firoved was already being actively investigated by the Seattle Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Court documents show he had responded to a fake ad posted by detectives seeking individuals interested in having sex with young girls.

After a July 3 phone call between Firoved and his girlfriend in which the former confirmed his desire to have a "sexual encounter" with the latter's daughter, a sting was set up, and Firoved was eventually apprehended.

Confronted with the evidence against him, Firoved claimed it was nothing more than a "sick fantasy" and that he "never touched anyone."

He was charged with attempted first-degree child rape — a crime for which he was convicted on October 9th.

On Friday, a Superior Court judge sentenced him to at least 10 years behind bars.

Firoved could be held indefinitely if the Department of Corrections feels he poses a risk to children.

Firoved's prior conviction stems from a 1999 sexual encounter he had with a 14-year-old girl he met online.

Following his release from prison, Firoved was initially classified a Level-II sex offender, but was bumped down to a Level-I after a review board determined the sex acts were "consensual in nature."
