A high school chemistry in Indiana was fired from his job shortly after being charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allegedly taking several of his students on an unauthorized "field trip" to a local strip club.

Travis Lechien, who has been teaching at Hanover Central High School for the past ten years, was stopped for speeding on his was back from a strip club in Hammond last month.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the students later confessed that Lechien, 31, had served them alcoholic beverages in his home before taking them to the strip club to celebrate one the students' 18th birthday.

The affidavit states that Lechien had regularly "hung out" with his students, allowing them to drink alcohol and smoke flavored tobacco from his hookah.

Lechien was suspended without pay following the incident, and was formally terminated this past Tuesday.

If found guilty, Lechien could spend up to a year in prison per charge.
