As more evidence was uncovered about Tamerlan Tsarnaev's violent characteristics, some investigators discovered that he was part of a previously unsolved triple murder of a former roommate and two others. The murders took place around the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks.
Tsarnaev died in a gun fight with police early on the Friday morning after the Monday Boston marathon bombing. He was close to at least one of the victims, 25-year-old Brendan Mess as the two trained together frequently at a Boston gym.
Other accounts of Tsarnaev's history of violence include court documents that reveal that in July 2009, Tsarneav was arrested for domestic violence against his then-girlfriend, though the case was dismissed.
