On Wednesday, a private jet carrying Bono from Ireland to Germany somehow managed not to crash after one of its goddamn doors flew off mid-flight, reportedly scattering the U2 frontman's luggage somewhere in Europe.

"The Learjet lost a door where the luggage was put in," German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation official Germout Freitag told ABC News, adding later that he has no idea why the accident occurred. "There can be many reasons for this incident. Either something broke on the door or the door wasn't closed properly. Those are the usual problems that occur."

The flight landed safely, and Bono and the other passengers were uninjured. Their luggage wasn't so lucky.

"The entire door along with Bono and his companions' luggage had fallen out mid-air," a source told the Irish Mail. "They don't know if the door and the contents landed over water or land but they were extremely lucky. They were at an altitude where anything could have happened and they are all feeling very lucky to be alive."

The Irish Mail reports that the passengers heard a "loud thud" mid-flight but didn't realize a door had fallen off until after they landed.
