Beyoncé Orders Terrified Man to “Put That Damn Camera Down” Mid-Song
[There was a video here]
Pretty much the greatest thing that can happen at a Beyoncé concert, other than spontaneously replicating on stage, is Beyoncé taking a little time out in the middle of a song to yell at someone in front of 20,000 people. It's like going on safari and catching a lion at the exact moment it pounces on a gazelle. Scary, exhilarating, and beautiful in its natural brutality. Beyoncé was made to yell at people.
At a recent world tour performance in Atlanta, Beyoncé took a little time out from singing her direction-oriented number Irreplaceable to publicly scold an audience member for recording her performance on his camera phone, probably because Beyoncé is an ancient vampire and her magic doesn't work through screens.
This is what happened when Beyoncé swung her microphone into the face of a terrified man and barked "SING!"
Terrified Man: Totheleft, totheleft, tothe—
Beyoncé: You can't even sing because you're too busy taping! I'm right in your face, baby. You gotta seize this moment. Put that damn camera down!
(knocks terrified man's hand, still clutching the cameraphone—from pure adrenaline, probably—out of her sight)
Terrified Man: Totheleft, to—
Beyoncé: Yeah. That's much better.
It wasn't, but whatever. People don't come to a Beyoncé concert to hear a terrified man sing. They come to hear Beyoncé sing or, failing that, yell at people.
Previously in Beyoncé Yells At People: Beyoncé yells "Somebody's Getting Fired" in the middle of a song after her lights fail.
