Bernie Sanders, a man whose personal net worth is well below his millionaire and billionaire competitors, is, according to reports, rolling in it.

Well, his campaign is rolling in it, at least. The New York Times reported on Sunday that the Sanders campaign is $20 million richer than it was last month, with the Democratic presidential candidate

In an earlier interview, Tad Devine, a senior adviser to the campaign, said Mr. Sanders’s success raising vast amounts of money from small donors separates him from other liberal candidates who generated such enthusiasm in the past but who saw their early success peter out as money ran dry. Any early momentum in the early contests Mr. Devine said in an interview, would trigger even more donations.

For some perspective, the campaign of Sanders’ competitor, Hillary Clinton, reported that it raised $37 million over the last three months of last year. Sanders, on the other hand, has been steadily increasing his fundraising efforts, and raised a total of $33 million over that same span.
