Art gallery and curatorial wonder emporium Amazon.com recently put the 1868 Claude Monet painting "L'Enfant a la tasse, portrait de Jean Monet" on sale for $1.45 million (free shipping). Amazon reviewers are not impressed.

Classified by Amazon.com as a "Unique Work," the oil portrait is "Currently unavailable." Amazon reports that they don't have a firm date yet for their next shipment: "We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." Though the painting is no longer available to adorn the home of the stylish urban nester, Amazon customer reviewers report that the painting isn't that great anyway.

Below are the highlights from Amazon's customer critics's analysis of Monet's painting. They included art history lessons, warnings against fraud, and classifications of how much $1.45 million really amounts to within the scale of the global economy.

Fuck that Manet guy. Everyone knows he's a fraud.

Shall we just admit that no one wants to gaze upon a homely child?

Chump change! It only costs a chump amount of change, I tell ya!

Can I see this in the ink display format?

Too bad if you were looking to empty out that chump change jar weighing down your kitchen counter. That's going to be there for a while, at least until Amazon restocks more "Child at the Tassels (?)".
