A man accused of masturbating near a woman in a Manhattan subway station Monday night, then pulling a gun on man who tried to catch him on video, has been arrested and identified as a retired NYPD cop.

Steven Esposito, 56, was charged Wednesday with menacing and public lewdness, the New York Daily News reported.

According to police, the victim heard Esposito “hissing” behind her, and turned around to find him with his penis out, touching himself. The woman told a man on the platform what happened, and that man followed Esposito as he exited the station, taking video on his phone.

Esposito allegedly pointed his gun—which as a retired officer, he likely carried legally—at the man and told him to “mind his own business.”

The Daily News reports Esposito was released on no bail and is due back in court Dec. 1.
