Four-year-old Adelaide Ames couldn’t sleep because she thought she kept hearing fireworks outside. So her dad, 32-year-old quantum physicist and maker-of-fun-science-videos-for-kids Benjamin Ames, decided they should sing to keep her mind “preoccupied.” And to videotape it and upload it to YouTube because that’s the world we live in.

The little girl explains to the camera whenever a “firework” goes off, creating a stop-and-go performance of “You Belong to Me” between father and daughter that many find heartwarming and impressive. The finale is pretty good.
