Judge Denies Cannibal Cop Bail After Prosecutors Reveal His Plans to Get 'Some Girl Meat' for Thanksgiving
Gilberto Valle, the NYPD cop suspected of planning to kidnap, cook, and eat dozens of women, was probably going to be denied bail again anyway, but it certainly didn't help his case that prosecutors were able to produce a transcript of an online conversation he had about eating "girl meal" for Thanksgiving.
"I'm planning on getting some girl meat," Valle told his alleged co-conspirator back in February according to Manhattan federal prosecutor Hadassa Waxman.
"Really? Tell me more," the co-conspirator replied, per the transcript. "This November, for Thanksgiving," Valle responded. "It's a long way off, but I'm getting the plan in motion now. She's not a volunteer. She has to be abducted. I know where she lives. I will grab her from her house."
Judge Paul Gardephe summarily denied Valle bail for the third time, and scheduled his trial for January 22nd.
Julia Gatto, Valle's public defender, claims her client was merely sharing "sick, twisted" sexual fantasies with members of his "subculture."
Gatto told the court she explored Valle's online hangouts herself, and came away with the impression that those who frequent them are not very different from "Star Trek geeks and science-fiction movie guys who dress up and go to conventions."
The attorney's insistence that Valle was merely fantasizing and wouldn't have acted out his urges was contradicted by an FBI expert who told the prosecution Valle was "not fantasizing," and would have moved forward with his macabre meal if allowed to go free.
