In First Post-Election Presser President Obama Talks Tough, Tells Senators Opposing Susan Rice Nomination to 'Go After Me'
Earlier today, Sen. John McCain criticized the choice of UN ambassador Susan Rice as a possible replacement for Hillary Clinton at the State Department, saying she was "not qualified" and her characterization of the Benghazi attack as a spontaneous demonstration was "not very bright."
Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) later made similar comments objecting to Rice's nomination.
In his first press conference since reelection, a visibly re-energized President Obama took issue with the lawmakers' objections. "If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after somebody," the President fired back, "they should go after me."
As Wonkette points out, it's more than a bit ludicrous for the "man who gave the nation Sarah Palin" to call someone out for lacking qualification and intelligence.
