Judge in Texas Concerned Obama Re-election Could Spark 'Civil War'
It's November 7th, 2012, and a re-elected Barack Obama has just handed over the sovereignty of the United States to the United Nations, sparking a civil war.
Sound insane? That's because it is. But that didn't stop one Texas judge from presenting that scenario to at least two local media outlets this week.
Speaking with Jeff Klotzman on FOX Talk 950, Lubbock County Judge Tom Head, an elected official who acts, among his other duties, as the county's emergency management coordinator, said he is planning for a worst case scenario involving Obama issuing "executive orders" to invalidate the Constitution and order UN troops into Amwerican cities.
"One of the things is he's going to try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations," Judge Head told Klotzman. "What do you think the public is going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war, OK?"
He continued:
Now what happens? What happens? Now I'm not talking just talking riots here and there. I'm talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK, what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to call in the UN troops, personnel carriers, tanks and weapons.
The judge made identical comments the following day just before an interview on FOX 34 News @ Nine. According to the station, the initial conversation was about a proposed tax increase which Head believes "is needed to shore up law enforcement to protect us."
In reality, the increase in necessary to allow the district attorney and sheriff's offices to improve salary competitiveness.
The judge has since made attempts to mitigate the PR disaster, telling attendees at a county commissioner meeting yesterday civil war is "probably not" going to break out.
He also tried to claim his words were taken out of context, to which Fox responded by posting the full transcript of his interview with Klotzman.
Most of Lubbock, including County Commissioner Gilbert Flores, castigated Judge Head for his remarks, but one resident of Lubbock, attorney Rod Hobson, managed to find humor in the judge's doom and gloom prognostication by putting up UN flags outside his office.
