Dan Savage of Savage Love and It Gets Better fame recently invited Brian Brown, president of the anti-gay nonprofit National Organization for Marriage, to have dinner with him and his family at his home in Seattle.

The two finally met up last Wednesday (the day of the Family Research Council shooting), and engaged in an hour-long dinner-table debate on marriage equality moderated by the New York Times' Mark Oppenheimer.

While Savage tries to point out, as he has in the past, that the Bible may not be the best source for guidelines on living life in modern times, Brown, who calls Savage a "bully," asserts, without nary a hint of irony, that marriage "traditionalists" are being picked on because of their beliefs.

And that's just the first five minutes.
