Report: Mike Judge, Terry Crews in Talks to Develop Idiocracy Spin-Off
Mike Judge's cult sci-fi comedy Idiocracy could be getting a spin-off series or possibly even a prequel if Terry Crews has anything to do with it.
The actor, best remembered for his role as U.S. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho in Judge's criminally underpromoted movie, recently told Movieline that, after five years of wishful thinking, he and Judge had finally begun talks with Fox to create a vehicle for President Camacho.
"Me and Mike [Judge] are talking right now with Fox about some Camacho stuff," he told the website. "We literally met with Fox a week ago. It's so cool."
There was little else by way of hard intel, but Crews did say fans of the film can expect to see Camacho on one small screen or another in the near dystopian future.
"We're going to see what it becomes, but we got approval from Fox to do some stuff," Crews told Movieline. "We're going to start off on the internet and do some small interstitials with Camacho."
